Traditional Chinese Medicine is a personalized approach to healthcare that relies on diagnostic tools such as blood work, physical evaluation, lifestyle and nutrition assessment, as well as other medical tests to successfully diagnose, treat and manage women’s health issues that have not been successfully treated by conventional care, such as:
- Painful periods
- Menopausal symptoms
- Breast issues
- Irregular menstruation
- Recurring UTI’s
- Improving fertility
- Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
- Ovarian cysts
- Dysmenorrhea (PAINFUL PERIODS)
- Interstitial Cystitis
- And more.
We use acupuncture, herbal remedies, bodywork, nutritional and lifestyle counseling to quickly and effectively treat women’s health issues; even those that have not responded to conventional medical treatment.
But that is only part of any treatment plan. We educate our patients about their condition and how simple changes can make a big difference in feeling stronger, happier and healthier over time. We believe that factors such as getting enough sleep, successfully managing stress, eating certain foods (whileavoiding others) and self-care all contribute to the healing process. As a result, we empower and encourage our patients to take a more active role in their healing and health.
We believe that when you know how to take care of what you can control in your health, you are better able to handle whatever outside influences that may stand to impact your physical well being. This level of control gives you a sense of peace and empowerment, because you know you are doing everything you can to feel healthy, happy and whole.
“When I first came to see Chris Butler, I had a sleep disorder and I was beginning to experience symptoms of menopause…”
When I first came to see Chris Butler, I had a sleep disorder and I was beginning to experience symptoms of menopause. I could not fall asleep at night and each night I had stress and anxiety, which led to another night of wakefulness. While my family slept, I was up the entire night. I wouldn’t fall asleep until about 6:30 am, and then I’d have to wake up to get my children off to camp. I was struggling to function, feeling very depressed and feeling like medical doctors were no help.
I could only sleep by taking a sleep pill and those are highly addictive. I would break the sleeping pills in small pieces and take a minimal amount, but still my doctor said I could only have them two or three times a week. I was also told that I should go on anti-depressants, which I didn’t want to do. As soon as I came to Chris, he was very compassionate, and reassuring that he could help me. He was different from other doctors who could only suggest things that didn’t work. He is also very knowledgeable about treating menopause and stress levels. On the first visit, he gave me some Chinese herbal supplements and suggested I do acupuncture twice a week to improve sleep and reduce stress. After a week or two, he changed the supplements to something different and magically, I fell asleep that night and the pattern was broken. It felt like a miracle after an ongoing ordeal. As time went on, through a combination of supplements, acupuncture and nutritional guidance, Chris was able to restore my healthy sleeping patterns. I don’t know what I would have done if I hadn’t found him.
